SUMMARY: This position is responsible for leading a team in the completion of projects and or support activities. This role will plan, coordinate, direct and design project related team activities and/or provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of an IS group. This position is the IS contact for the functional managers of the areas they support. In addition, the position interfaces directly with decision makers in the business to identify, recommend, develop, plan, implement and support cost-effective technology solutions in their respective areas of responsibility. Other responsibilities include: manage cross functional projects and teams; manage personnel administration of team members assigned to their functional area i.e. administering or having significant input into Teams reviews; manage indirect resources assigned to project tasks including consulting resources; serve as a central point of contact for the functional managers involved in related business processes; work with end users and business unit managers to support applications and or projects. Other duties include: lead the planning, design, development and deployment of mission-critical information and software systems; completion of documentation as directed by the Tyson System Development Lifecycle; provide management with accurate and timely project team status reports; manage projects, team, quality, timelines, scope, resources and budgets; manage internal customer relations and expectations; lead team in conducting feasibility studies to help support buy versus build decisions; designing and or providing input into the training plans for team members.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other technical area. Equivalent work experience may be acceptable.
Experience: 7 plus years of experience in Information Systems or related area with proven leadership and project management experience role.
Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills; extensive knowledge of relevant multi-user computer systems applications and or equipment; knowledge of current technology developments and trends; demonstrated experience with Project Tracking tools i.e. Microsoft Project; experience with Data Governance type projects, Data warehouse integration, MDM Data quality initiatives a plus; technical background in ETL tools, Data Analysis, Front end Reporting Tools, Data Warehousing, Analytics, Data Mining, Power Point, Word and Excel.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong customer facing skills; strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Special Skills: Experience with the following: large or multiple projects and or team management; providing constructive feedback to other team members; extensive understanding of business process design and experience with a System Development Lifecycle Methodology; designing or implementing complex solutions; communicating technical solutions to the business; analyzing and interpreting information systems proposals and evaluating and developing alternative implementation plans; working productively on a cross functional team; extensive problem solving skills; leading cross functional business meetings, strong knowledge of project planning tools and concepts; ability to work with a matrix organizational structure to accomplish stated goals; organizational and planning skills.
Travel: Some travel may be required. Amount of travel will be determined by individual project requirements.
Supervisory: Currently this position has no direct reports, but direct reports may be assigned in the future.
Biosecurity: When visiting biosecure jobsites and environments showering before entering the facilities is required. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsites except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species, chickens, ducks and birds. The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times.
Physical Requirements: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The Team Member must occasionally lift and or move up to 25 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment: Safety goggles, rubber boots, gloves and earplugs will be used as needed.
