**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. (BSNC) is seeking a Recruiter for its Anchorage, AK office. The Recruiter is responsible for delivering all facets of recruiting success throughout the organization. This will be achieved through the development of recruiting plans, employing traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative recruiting ideas. The Human Resources Recruiter will play a critical role in ensuring the company is hiring the best possible talent. The Recruiter, under general supervision and in accordance with applicable laws, is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by working with managers within Bering Straits and their subsidiaries to post job vacancies, screen candidates, develop interview questions, assist with interviews, and provide onboarding services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop business relationships with Bering Straits and their subsidiaries; maintain an understanding of their current and future recruiting needs.
Maintain an understanding of Bering Straits’ and its subsidiaries’ industries and the requirements of each position within.
Work with managers throughout Bering Straits and its subsidiaries to post jobs in ways that effectively reach qualified applicants.
Ensure job postings meet federal, state, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action, and Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) posting and compliance requirements.
Follow Company applicant tracking and requisition procedures; ensure applicant tracking is up-to-date and recruitment files are maintained with all essential pieces.
Coordinate with the Shareholder Department to identify shareholder or descendant candidates that may qualify for open positions; reach out to determine interest.
Assist in interviewing, screening, recruiting shareholders/descendants and other job applicants to better match their experience with specific job related requirements.
Screen and route qualified candidates to hiring managers.
Assist in the interview process; draft interview questions, schedule interviews, and attend interviews as necessary.
Oversee testing, and hiring processes to ensure adherence to all equal employment opportunities (EEO) legislation, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other government compliance requirements. Maintains necessary files covering application, interviews, and testing procedures.
Draft accurate offer letters, facilitate pre-employment processes: drug testing, background checks, etc..
Follow-up with the related clerical aspects of employment; notify the department, benefits, and hiring manager of employee's start date and position, ensure the Personnel/Employee Action Forms are complete, etc.
Schedule and conduct new hire orientations.
Process I-9s and other new hire paperwork.
Provide exceptional levels of customer service and timely follow-up with applicants and internal customers.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws impacting recruitment and OFCCP guidelines.
Participate in job fairs and community events.
Communicate the Internal Hire policy that employees can apply for any position for which they feel qualified.
Draft recruitment and onboarding related Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs) and training documents.
Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Participate in Company required training.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements :
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE; SKILLS, AND ABILITIES; EDUCATION; AND LICENSURE
Required (Mandatory Qualifications):
High School diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
Two or of more years of specific recruitment experience.
Thorough knowledge of equal employment opportunity laws, American Disabilities Act (ADA), and other government compliance regulations that affect job recruitment.
Excellent interviewing and general communications and writing skills.
Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures relative to recruitment.
Experience and/or familiarity with Human Resource Information Systems.
Excellent Interpersonal skills. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Intermediate knowledge of the recruitment processes (job postings, job boards, candidate screening and selection, interviewing, etc.), best practices, and state, federal, and OFCCP compliance and ability to perform related tasks.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and confidentially process and maintain data with accuracy with minimal oversight.
Basic computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
Ability to enter data accurately into databases.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff.
Effective oral and technical written communication skills to effectively and clearly communicate complex information to others as well as to present information in front of a group.
Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, etc.
Ability to follow a process.
Strong professional customer service skills, including active listening, prompt service and follow-up.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas.
Strong decision analysis and problem solving skills; ability to draw conclusions and justify decisions.
Ability to learn and understand corporate policies and procedures and how they relate to Bering Straits’ goals.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, detect unobvious facts and issues, and exercise resourcefulness in resolving problems.
Ability to multi-task.
Preferred:
Completion of a two (2) year degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or similar.
PHR Certification or three (3) years’ experience working in Human Resources.
Prior experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and data entry (i.e. Deltek CostPoint).
Experience related to government contractracting strongly preferred.
