The ideal candidate will support the Durham Learning and Development (L&D) team by planning and executing learning programs and activities, along with providing on-going support for the Durham Integrated Learning Plan.
In this role, you will combine strong facilitation skills with an ability to service multiple stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a reliable problem-solver with strong project management and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain training records in the Learning Management System (LMS) (e.g. training records, course scheduling, training completions, training coordination, regulatory audit support)
Maintain and execute learning plan assignments and requests (Curriculum/Job Code Updates)
• Support all activities associated with New Hire Orientation (facilitation, course material preparation, classroom setup, scheduling/coordination, trainer material preparation, content development/modification, as required)
• Facilitate MMD Job Skills Training program. Coach and evaluate participants
• Facilitate other assigned training, as required
• Track, trend, and submit multiple training reports on training activities, training effectiveness and overall compliance metrics
Consult with stakeholders to understand their needs to make appropriate learning assumptions and solutions. Support needs assessments and/or capability gap analyses
• Partner with stakeholders to develop area capability plans linked to business requirements, inclusive of job, functional and leadership skills
Identify required skills and knowledge that need to be included in learning interventions
Act as liaison between LSS and stakeholders to ensure alignment with learning needs
• Support the organization in Permanent Inspection Readiness and CGMP Compliance
Manage documentation to ensure compliance to internal and external regulatory standards
• Ensure adherence to all Learning & Development policies and processes from site, MMD Learning and Global
• Support EHS or Quality Compliance regulatory audits/inspections, as required

Qualifications
Education Minimum Requirement
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience and Skills
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a people development role (L&D/HR/OD) or demonstrated ability to proactively develop employees
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Working Knowledge of Learning Management Systems
Curriculum Management
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Production Systems
Knowledge of Manufacturing E2E Business Process & Functions
Working knowledge and application of Adult Learning Principles and Evaluation Methodologies
Quality Management systems, cGMP, and regulatory inspections
Basic understanding of change management methodology and processes to drive adoption of changes (new processes, new systems, role changes)

Leverage internal and external assets and facilitate information, knowledge, and expertise sharing relevant to a particular topic or area of interest to achieve business outcomes.
Digital Acumen:
Develop digital workplaces and digital workforces, deploy technology that changes how people work, relate to each other, and learn using a wide variety of tools to build a digital organization, workforce, and workplace based on awareness of emerging technologies. Collaborate with IT and the business to integrate learning into the digital and automation strategies.
Learning Analytics:
With an understanding of the talent factors that drive performance, monitor business KPIs, talent metrics, and performance metrics and tell a story with data to influence and help the business make better strategic and tactical decisions and appreciate how learning initiatives are impacting business performance. Provide employees with data to help them continue to improve.
Learning Measurement & Evaluation
: Ability to gather, analyze and report information regarding the impact of learning solutions against key business drivers and evolving strategic priorities. Ability to present information in a way that is meaningful to the organization, and to use learning metrics and analytics to inform organizational decision making.
Modern Learning Champion:
Act as an advocate for L&D by messaging vison of Merck's learning culture by building people capabilities through relevant continuous learning experiences. Specifically focused on - Personalized Adaptive Learning, Modernizing the Learner experience, and integrating learning in the flow of work.
