Summary
The Benefits Manager position is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operations of group benefit programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, pension and retirement plans). Investigate benefit programs, improve existing programs, supervise, and monitor benefit administration. Provide analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs. Provide excellent customer service and quality benefit plans.
Responsibilities
1. Research employee benefit plans and vendors to identify those that present the best value.
Recommend and implement benefit programs.
Assist in the management of the benefit plan renewal process.
Collect experience data from available resources.
Examine possible plan design or benefit cost changes.
Work with vendors to evaluate potential changes in advance of annual renewals and/or contract deadlines.
2. Administration of employee health plan
Track effective dates for benefit eligibility
Assist with developing specifications and review bids and/or proposals
Handle transition process when there is a change in insurance administration
Provide data relative to premiums, claims and costs
Provide necessary enrollment material for employees
Enroll new employees in the plan
Maintain current information and deliver orientation of benefits
Prepare management reports as needed
Coordinate annual audits
Oversee annual open enrollment event
Oversee compliance obligations, such as annual filings and reports
3. Administer Retirement Plan & 401(k) Plan
Assist with the daily administration of Pension plan
Enroll new employees and facilitate enrollment changes
Serve as liaison between employees, beneficiaries, and the Pension Administrator
Maintain accurate records
Assist with the daily administration of 401(k) Benefit
Assist employees with questions
Work with plan vendors and provide information as requested
Monitor changes to plan benefit
Oversee compliance obligations, such as nondiscrimination testing, annual filings and reports
4. Administer Other Benefit Programs
Administer EAP program; other welfare benefit programs (e.g., dental, vision, disability, life); and fertility benefit and family support programs
Develop Request for Proposals
Monitor utilization and satisfaction
Qualifications
Experience in plan design, negotiating vendor and provider services and costs preferred

Additional Information
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. degree in Business Administration or Human Resources, and a minimum of five years’ experience in Benefits Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, familiarity with ADP and associated HRIS systems
Knowledge of benefit contract language
Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements both adopted and pending affecting employee benefit programs, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1991, ADEA, Social Security and DOL requirements.
Possess valid driver license
POSITION SUMMARY
As the Benefits Manager, you will ensure plans and programs are administered appropriately and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations as well as Waller’s policies. You are responsible for the day-to-day support and oversight of the administration of the company’s Health and Welfare, and Retirement programs. This position functions as a liaison between plan administrators and members while advising members on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit matters. You will collaborate with firm leadership as well as provide support to the Retirement Committee and Welfare Benefits Committee. Each day you will use detail orientation and critical thinking skills to manage data, review claim information and provide trend analysis. You will track and complete regular audits monitoring compliance and efficiency. Your ability to effectively manage relationships both internally and externally will be key to success!
