POSITION SUMMARY:u00A0 The Benefits Specialist answers moderately complex employee questions regarding benefits and LOAu2019s.u00A0 Records team member enrollment in benefits and group insurance programs. Works with employees and third party organizations to resolve issues related to eligibility for benefit plans, amounts of coverage, and claims procedures. Effectively coordinates LOAs to include general administration, comprehensive case management and program compliance with the Family and Medical Leave Act and all related employment laws.At Pilgrimu2019s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always. Face coverings are available to all team members and enhanced cleaning and sanitation is regularly performed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responds to moderately complex employee inquiries by phone, written correspondence and/or email regarding vacation, short-term disability leave, long-term disability, workers' compensation, disability, 401k plans, pension and retirement, and other plansDelivers employee presentations on benefit programsExplains and interprets more complex aspects of insurance programs to employees and dependentsAnswers more complex questions regarding benefits such as pension and retirement plan, and group benefit plans which include life, hospitalization, and disability leaveCorresponds with staff at provider offices, hospitals, and benefits providers regarding claimsCoordinates the administration of employee benefit programs such as benefit plan coverage, dental insurance, group life insurance, pension plans, and other benefitsConsults with and advises employees on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to benefitsCoordinates the preparation of employee benefits booklets and other employee benefit communicationsAssist with the coordination of annual enrollment processMay research, analyze and integrate data to provide information on benefit programs and utilizationAdministers leave programs and policies in accordance with the applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.)Independently approves and/or denies leave cases based on relevant medical information. Coordinates and organizes all medical information and ensures that HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are closely monitored and effectively executedManages all administrative aspects of leave to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with Payroll to ensure that pay for team members is accurate and correctManages all administrative aspects of leave and workersu2019 compensation claims to include tracking hours used/taken and working closely with the HR Service Center and Payroll to ensure that pay for associates is accurate and correctWorks closely with associates to ensure that all relevant completed medical documentation is submitted for timely review. Maintains appropriate contact with all associates on leave and coordinates all aspects of return to work for associates on leaveAssists with Attendance Tracking and Attendance ReportingOther duties as requiredEXPECTATIONS u2013 all Team Members Observe & enforce all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies.
