The Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Coordinator manages the hiring and search process for all full time and part time (non-student) vacant positions. The selected individual will help recruit candidates using advanced methods to ensure a rich and diverse pool of candidates, and will proactively identify, source, and recruit candidates to build a diverse pipeline of candidates for current and future needs.
The candidate will also be responsible for coordinating job searches, creating and reviewing job descriptions and routing positions and postings through the University’s applicant tracking system.
This position will design, develop and implement a best in class onboarding program for new hires. These programs will ensure that new hires are comfortable before their first day and will help guide a new employee through their first year. Goals of this position include developing a sense of belonging to the department and University of Maryland community. The successful candidate will need the ability to work closely with the entire HR/Training team, hiring managers, and partners across University of Maryland’s campus. The Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Coordinator will be an active participant in the implementation of the University’s launch of the new HRIS system and continuously train managers and employees on how to use the system.
This position will also work with supervisors updating existing employee job descriptions and identifying promotional opportunities for existing employees.
