Profile

OBJECTIVE: Lead, direct, and grow a group of Human Resources professionals who contribute to the achievement of business unit objectives. Design, implement and sustain strategic talent optimization initiatives to strengthen talent and leadership capabilities across the Business Services Division.

SCOPE: Partnering with HR and Operations leaders to deploy relevant onboarding, technical training, and leadership skills and development. Ensuring our company’s values and 5Cs are at the core of how we do business, fosters career growth and increased engagement from hire to retire.

Responsibilities include:


Drive core training and development initiatives for hourly, management support, and salaried teams across the Business Services group, with primary focus in Transportation and Warehousing Operations (including Corporate leadership and over 50 facility locations, supporting 8500 TMs enterprise-wide).

Develop and execute Human Resources strategies and resources to support the business plan and initiatives of the Transportation and Warehousing Division with the purpose of achieving consistent HR objectives and compliance.

Establish and cultivate key business relationships; serve as the key liaison between field operations and corporate HR/COE’s.

Collaborate with operations leadership to achieve desired business objectives, such as Staffing, Retention, and Engagement metrics/initiatives.

Drive strategic workforce planning initiatives based on absenteeism, turnover and retention trends, and activity, as well as, scheduling, productivity, and engagement strategies.

Partner with business to address areas of opportunities determined identified with the use of business and people analytics.

Comply with all federal, state, and local legal requirements by understanding and anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

This position will also be responsible to oversee all HR functions to include legal administration, compliance, labor and union relations, disciplining, policy development, policy implementation, conflict resolution and terminations for team members within the Transportation and Warehousing Division.


REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience: College degree (or equivalent experience) with 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources and/or Training & Development, or advanced degree with 8 years of progressive HR experience.

Computer Skills: Standard computer skills. Proficiency in Learning Management Systems.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Special Skills: Design, implement and sustain strategic talent optimization initiatives to strengthen talent and leadership capabilities across the Business Services Division.

Ability to provide guidance, counsel, and recommendations involving HR issues to all levels of management while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive HR issues. In addition, this person must continue to increase job knowledge by participating in conferences, education opportunities and professional organizations.

Supervisory: Responsible for managing (directly and indirectly) numerous Transportation and Warehousing HR leaders.Travel: 50% travel
