An exciting opportunity is available for a candidate to join us as Director, Benefits for the organization. The dynamic and ambitious individual will lead the Benefits efforts for the Arvinas as part of its core evolution and growth strategy. The role will partner with key functional and business stakeholders. The role is internal and external facing developing and implementing the Benefits strategy to enhance the company’s employee and candidate value proposition.  This role ensures that our benefits offerings and programs are rewarding, competitive and in line with company objectives and culture.  The role leads all our benefit programs, partners with the HR team to communicate all benefits-related information to our employees and administer the programs company-wide. In addition, this role partners with payroll, IT, and other internal teams to ensure HR operations runs smoothly, providing an exceptional experience to our employees.  Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, deep analytical capabilities, and a collaborative working style.

The role will report directly to the VP of Human Resources and is based in our New Haven, CT headquarters. Hybrid work arrangements are available, with 2 – 3 days a week being remote based on work requirements and project needs.

Principal Responsibilities

n

Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Creates the benefits roadmap and ensures successful and timely execution; ensures that our benefits program that reflects our corporate values, supports the health and welfare of our colleagues and their families, and attracts/retains talent in a competitive market by keeping pulse on what matters most.
  • n
  • Lead & complete benefit planning design and administration, budgeting, communication, and employee education to support a dynamic growing employee population. Customize plan offerings to meet the unique needs of our specific employee population and support delivery on Arvinas strategy.  Ensure our technology is optimized to support an easy and smooth process that allows us to scale our plans as we grow in size and geographic footprint.

  • Assess market benchmarks and current trends, as well as internal utilization and costs to ensure benefit offerings remain highly competitive and fiscally responsible; recommend strategies that appropriately address employee needs and company priorities.

  • Oversees ongoing administration, evaluation, design, and implementation of all benefit programs, including core health & welfare, time off, leaves of absence, and programs focused on mental health/employee wellness.
  • n
  • Conducts benefits selection negotiations, analyze expenses and trends, develop communication, and implement strategies to manage costs.
  • n
  • Creates and leads execution of innovative approaches for increasing awareness of our benefit programs and offerings.
  • n
  • Interact directly with colleagues at all levels as necessary on matters requiring sensitivity, compassion, and creative solution-finding.
  • n
  • Ensures successful broker and vendor relationships, including guiding team on best practice vendor management; leads evaluation of potential vendors.
  • n
  • Keep current on benefits regulations and new legislation; ensure all programs and policies are legally compliant; oversee audits and required filings.

  • Monitor federal and state regulations concerning benefits, and HRIS to ensure compliance with legal requirements

Qualifications

n
    n
  • 12 years’ experience in a senior Benefits role in a multi-functional high growth business.
  • n
n
    n
  • Recognized subject matter expertise in all areas of benefits, HR operations, compliance, and related employment law/regulations
  • n
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to collaboratively tackle problems and look for continuous improvement
  • n
  • Validated ability to build solid relationships both vertically and horizontally
  • n
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, negotiate and partner with 3rd party vendors
  • n
  • Prior supervisory experience desired
  • n
  • Proven skills and abilities in influencing, facilitation, development, and problem solving with a passion to deliver results
  • n
  • Excellent communication, presentation, consultative, partnership, and interpersonal skills
  • n
  • Results-oriented with demonstrated critical thinking, innovation, and flexibility in dealing with changing and ambiguous situations
  • n
  • Strong project management skills including successful leadership of projects from planning phase through completion
  • n
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to positively communicate, and sometimes challenge, all levels in the organization in an effective manner
  • n
  • CEBS credential or related Benefits certifications is a plus.
  • n
  • Prior experience developing and administering a global benefits program a plus.
