SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for staffing and retaining personnel for the facility to achieve business and regulatory requirement. Essential functions of this position are as follows: keep official records and executes administrative work and policies for production; payroll administration; monitors and administers all compliance requirements for Federal and State governments as well as company policies; recruiting and hiring; maintains and monitors Affirmative Action program; administers onboarding program; conducts all required annual training for facility; responsible for benefits administration; participates in employment related services and counseling with Team Members; maintains HR/safety records to include but not limited to attendance, ADA logs, job postings, etc.; assists in annual survey and subsequent facility presentations; FMLA knowledge; conducts/reviews investigations; monitoring turnover and creating/reviewing retention programs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Requires broad knowledge in a general professional field, normally acquired through 2 years of college resulting in associate degree or equivalent. SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred.
Experience: Four (4) plus years HR related experience required.
Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals using available computer programs.
Special Skills: Experience in labor relations conflict resolution progressive HR project work preferred; knowledge of compensation administration performance management and benefits management preferred; proven track record of building strong relationships vertically and horizontally within an organization; possesses high standards of ethical behavior confidentiality professionalism and objectivity; skillful in listening and ascertaining the needs and concerns of people and in communicating information concerning processes policies and procedures with accuracy and clarity; strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data; ability to handle competing priorities and adapt comfortably to interrupted work flow.
Travel: Travel domestically approximately two (2) to four (4) trips per year.
Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the workday. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry; must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, and birds). The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times; must be willing to follow the guidelines in all Cobb Farm/Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.
Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment: When visiting facilities, team member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment: Safety goggles rubber boots and gloves and earplugs will be used as needed.
During the current Pandemic (2020), all Team Members will be required to wear company issued facial coverings. Training will be provided to each Team Member specific to their job and their facility location in addition to signing an acknowledgement form they understand these expectations.
It is considered an essential function of each job for a Team Member to wear the company issued facial coverings. If a Team Member indicates they will not wear the mask, they will not be considered for the position in which they are applying or any position that requires the facial covering. If a Team Member has a medical condition or disability that prevents them from wearing the mask, Cobb will engage in an interactive process to determine whether a reasonable accommodation can be provided that addresses the safety concerns associated with the Pandemic and allow the Team Member to perform the essential functions of the job.
