This is a contract-to-hire position in the office in DC.
Job Description:
This position is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and managing employee benefit plans for the organization by performing the following duties:
Reviews, or directs review of, personnel records to determine names, rates of pay, and occupations of newly hired workers, and changes in wage rates and occupations of employees on payroll.
Records, or directs recording of, new or changed pay rates in payroll register or computer files.
Directs computation of pay according to company policy.
Directs compilation and preparation of other payroll data such as pension, insurance, and credit union payments.
Reviews and approves payroll deductions.
Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
Reviews payroll to ensure accuracy.
Issues written and oral instructions.
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Adjusts errors and complaints.
Plans and directs implementation and administration of employee benefit programs such as health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, workers compensation, employee assistance, retirement, and other plans.
Prepares and communicates information to employees and former employees about benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures.
Provides services to employees to answer their benefit questions, resolve problems related to access to or payment of benefits, orient newly eligible employees, and process enrollment forms, changes, and loan requests.
Maintains employee benefits data in automated human resources information systems.
Coordinates transfer of data to external vendors, plan providers, auditors, and consultants.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual: Spanish English (Plus not required)
