Staff Software Engineer

Profile

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer for a very important client.

The software engineering group for this position is responsible for the Mission Control System (MCS) domain of the DigitalGlobe Ground System for our constellation of earth observation satellites. The role reports to an Agile Manager and works with System Engineers, Operations Engineers, Spacecraft Engineers, Space Vehicle Operators, Scrum Master and Product Owners.

As a member of an agile scrum team, the Staff Software Engineer will work on a cross-functional team on both the legacy and next gen systems. The team member will provide on-schedule, high quality, operational and test code adhering to designs, acceptance criteria and corporate standards, with appropriate demonstrations and documentation.
Responsibilities

This position is for software and automated test development as a member of a development team following the Agile scrum process.
Requirement:
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
2-3 years? professional experience

Basic Qualifications

? Minimum 5 years of software development of complex systems
? Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience
? Experience developing REST interfaces
? Expertise with JSON
? Expertise with Python and/or Ruby
? Expertise with SW build/deploy automation
? Expertise in UNIX
? Experience with Cloud compute and storage platforms
? Must be a US Citizen who currently holds or must be able to obtain an US security clearance
?
Preferred Qualifications
? Experience with Aerospace and/or Satellite Ground Systems,
? Experience with Amazon Web Services
? Expertise with Postgres
? Expertise with S3
? Experience with Ops support of a complex UNIX-based system
