We are seeking a Scientist I - R&D for a very important client.
Duties
Assist in conducting R&D experiments in high throughput genotyping workflow; this requires the use of semi-automated and automated liquid handling instruments
Perform data entry for experiment
Assist team in stocking/restocking materials and maintain team equipment calibration status
Requirement:
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Education
BS in biological sciences fields, such as Biology or Biochemistry
Experience
1-2 years laboratory experience (can be derived from academic internships)
Basic laboratory techniques required such as micropipetting, solution preparation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, optical density measurements, centrifuges, plate mixers, etc.
Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word
Experience on using liquid handlers such as the Beckman, Hamilton, Integra (preferred but not required)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Individual must work well in a team environment
Basic understanding of molecular biology
Attention to detail in the lab and ability to follow written lab protocols
Capacity to learn new technologies/concepts rapidly and apply them to the needs of the lab
Strong communication (written and oral) skills, able to follow written and verbal instructions to perform tasks
Excellent at record keeping and highly organized; neat and tidy and cognizant of shared lab space
Self-motivated
