Beveridge & Diamond seeks a Professional Development Coordinator to join our Professional Development team. This position reports to the Chief Talent Officer.

Beveridge & Diamond, the nation’s first and largest environmental law firm, seeks a proactive, self-starter with law firm professional development or related experience to take a lead role in helping to develop and execute the Firm’s talent management and professional development strategy across its 7 offices throughout the United States. Reporting to the Firm’s Chief Talent Officer, the Coordinator will work in concert with Firm-wide committees and departments who share responsibilities for creating a collaborative and supportive environment and building a workplace that fosters employee engagement and supports the Firm’s business objectives and values. These committees and departments include Diversity & Inclusion, HR, Recruiting, Marketing & Business Development, and Beveridge & Diamond University (BDU).
Essential Duties
The Professional Development Coordinator will assist the CTO to implement and assess Firm-wide training curriculum and initiatives, including substantive legal training, professional skills training, diversity & inclusiveness training, and business development training, including: Coordinating with the Chief Business Development & Marketing Officer with respect to business development training
Coordinating with external vendors and consultants to arrange attorney and staff training programs as directed by the CTO.
Coordinating attorney onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and professional development programs
Supporting on and off-ramping for attorneys transitioning into or returning from parental, family, or other longer-term leave in consultation with the Human Resources Director
Supporting regional office integration and communication with respect to professional development opportunities
Planning social events held in connection with new associate orientation and other programs.
The Professional Development Coordinator will help support Firm-wide diversity & inclusion initiatives and maintain key retention metrics
Other aspects of the job include:

Qualifications and Requirements

Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in human resources, psychology, or communications, or demonstrated career experience preferably in a law firm
Minimum of 2 years experience in HR or professional development
Organized and highly motivated
A flexible mindset and ability to “wear many hats”
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Initiative, proactivity, a self-starter who shows ownership and commitment to the job
Ability to work effectively with lawyers and staff Firm-wide
Willingness to work overtime during busy periods, as well as for specific programs or events (e.g., early morning or evening events)
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to spot issues and calmly problem solve under pressure
Polished written and verbal communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred
Proficiency in viDesktop
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Social media savvy
