Maxim Healthcare Corporate Services is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist. The Internal Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing internal payroll information, reviewing and performing payroll audits and serving as a point of contact for questions about pay policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Processes Payroll for all internal and corporate workers on a weekly basis
Keeps abreast of payroll processing systems and changes in wage and tax laws
Provides training and guidance of time and attendance system to users and managers
Provides assistance to team members with payroll processes
Provides guidance on basic payroll functions
Provides mentorship and guidance to team members
Responds to questions regarding pay policies and procedures with a focus on customer service
Sets up and maintains leave of absence sheets for assigned region
Reconciles transactions each payroll with the received payroll outputs (bonuses, commissions)
Audits all batches validating information and correcting where needed
Maintains a high level of accuracy of data in time and attendance system
Processes and reconciles weekly time export for internal and corporate employees
Processes new hire data, rehires and transfers
Processes separation documents and payments in accordance with federal and state laws
Assists in providing coverage when needed
Creates, saves and distributes weekly reports
Review current processes for possible increased efficiency
Research and assist with complex payroll concerns
Provide training and continuing education focused on the improvement of payroll and internal processes
Completes all above duties with a high degree of accuracy
Adheres to all Maxim and worksite rules, policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
4 years of payroll experience Knowledge of ADP Enterprise
Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language may be required
Computer proficiency required; Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
