As a Professional Development Program Associate (Compensation and Benefits) for the Airports Authority, you will gain real world experience and industry knowledge while building knowledge and skills in your field as you work toward achieving your career goals.
Professional Development Program Associate (Compensation and Benefits)
This is a four-year developmental program and is designed to lead to placement in a career full performance Compensation and Benefits Specialist position.

Associate (Years 1 and 2) are developmental during which you will receive experiential training and assignments to build your skills as a professional (such as self-management, business acumen, and leadership skills) and to start to develop your knowledge base in your designated discipline.
After 12 months of successful performance (end of Year 1) and upon completing the following:
*Professional Development training.
*Professional Development projects.
*Demonstrate an understanding of the Airports Authority's health benefits program.
*Assist in the annual benefits Open Season process.
*Works under the guidance of a Compensation and Benefits Specialist as they process actions in Workday.
*Works under the guidance of a Compensation and Benefits Specialist as they respond to inquiries from the Benefits Mailbox.
*Workday HCM training.
*Complete EDM Training.
At that time, you will receive a pay increase and move to the Associate (Year 2) job profile.
After an additional 12 months of successful performance (end of Year 2) and upon completing the following:
*Professional Development training.
*Professional Development projects.
*Ability to conduct new hire orientation for benefits elections.
*Demonstrate an understanding of the Airports Authority's retirement program.
*Works under the guidance of a Compensation and Benefits Specialist as they calculate pension estimates and final accrued benefit (for retirees).
*Process benefit actions in Workday.
*Complete Workday Benefits and Report Writing Training.
*Assist in conducting salary reviews and grading job profiles.
*Undertake training for job-related Benefits certification, such as Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) through WorldatWork; Certification as a Group Benefit Associate (GBA); Certification as a Retirement Plan Associate (RPA); or Certification as an Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS.
At that time, you will receive a one grade increase and move to the Technician (Year 3) job profile.
Technician (Year 3) you will work more independently on assigned projects for your department and continue your job-related training and certification(s).
After an additional 12 months of successful performance (end of Year 3) and upon completing the following:
*Demonstrate an understanding of the Airports Authority's Compensation programs.
*Assist in the annual Merit Pay Program/Performance Management Program process.
*Process compensation actions in Workday.
*Complete Workday Advanced Compensation training.
*Achieve one Benefits certification.
*Undertake training for job-related Compensation certification, such as Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) from World at Work, or Certification as a Compensation Management Specialist from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
At that time, a one grade increase is awarded non-competitively and you move to the Analyst (Year 4) job profile.
Analyst (Year 4) you will work more independently on assigned projects for your department and continue your job-related training and certification(s).
After 12 months of successful performance (end of Year 4), you will be required to demonstrate the skills of a full performance career Compensation and Benefits Specialist and achieve the required Compensation certification.
You will then be promoted to the Compensation and Benefits Specialist position, and you will have completed the program.
Serves in the Compensation and Benefits Department of the Office of Human Resources and Administrative Services at the Headquarters Office.
Performs a variety of activities in support of the assigned Department. Acquires and improves professional skills while gaining real world experience and knowledge. As knowledge, experience, and skills increase, more complex and varied responsibilities are assigned. Performs related functions.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs varied professional activities while gaining experience and real-world knowledge in the discipline.
Communicates and interacts with supervisors and staff from various offices. May interact with external business contacts.
Generates and/or reviews written material, as assigned.
May design, develop, or maintain spreadsheets or databases.
May collect, enter, revise, sort, calculate, or retrieve data and information for reports and other purposes.
May perform analyses of data or information to assist with Department functions. May develop and present recommendations based on the analyses or other information.
Develops and gives professional presentations.
Works with the Employee Development Department to create an individual development and performance plan. Identifies weaknesses and strengths in education, training, and experience.
Participates in quarterly reviews of performance.
Attends training for developmental purposes.
Works on special assignments, as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of the fundamental principles, practices, and procedures related to your field and the ability to perform basic assignments in this field.
Knowledge of and ability to apply general business processes, practices, and controls.
Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Self-starter, handling multiple assignments concurrently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certifications pertinent to the field.
Master's degree in any field.
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's Degree or higher, obtained between August 2019 and August 2022.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES REQUIRED
May require a state driver's license in good standing.
NECESSARY SPECIAL FACTORS
Work is typically reviewed in progress and upon completion for quantity, quality, timeliness, teamwork, customer service, and other factors.
