JOB SUMMARY:
A Drawer Box Assembler builds, rails, fronts & installs drawer boxes for cabinets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Use air tools, hand tools, jigs, etc…to build drawer boxes, prepare dummy fronts, and install rails/clips onto completed boxes
* Use glue to assemble drawer boxes and hot melt glue to attach rails to boxes
* Ensure quality specifications are met for all aspects of drawer box assembly
* Use a computer system to perform building & fronting of the drawer box
* Read & interpret production labels
* Identify & install correct drawer boxes from staging rack into cabinets
* Identify & install correct dummy fronts onto cabinets
* Maintain a safe work environment, including housekeeping for yourself and your team
* Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills/Abilities:
* Ability to identify cabinet types, wood species, finishes, drawer front types & styles
* Ability to use basic math concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
* Ability to use & read a standard tape measure
Required Education & Experience:
* High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
Required Physical Ability:
* Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time
* Frequent bending, crouching, pulling & pushing
* Regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. & occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
* Working in an indoor environment with excessive hot, humid, and cold temperatures.
* Protective safety gear will be required including safety glasses, gloves, and other.
* The noise level is usually moderate to high.
* Occasional overtime and weekend work, required.
