BASIC PURPOSE: The HR Specialist will be a key resource for our nearly 30,000 field team members and leaders to provide support and services in all functional areas of Love's Field HR. The HR Specialist will be an expert in coaching, performance management, and interpreting policies and procedures. The HR Specialist will manage business needs and employee advocacy to find optimal solutions for employee relations matters.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Champion HR team mindset of using customer-first approach to deliver HR solutions *Acts as an employee advocate, a change agent and anticipates HR-related needs *Serves as point of contact for employee questions, grievances, or concerns *Understand business goals and recommend new solutions, polices, or procedures to help drive continuous improvement *Help business leaders identify, investigate, and resolve employee concerns or conflicts in appropriate and timely manner *Responsible for accurate and detailed documentation regarding employee questions, or concerns *Works closely with field leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase employee retention *Consult, provide guidance and make recommendation on corrective and/or disciplinary action related to employee conduct or performance issues *Oversee performance management process and system. Develop recommendations for enhancements to process and system *Assist field management in implementing corrective action plans and/or performance improvement plans correlating with current policies *Assist HR Manager on new projects or initiatives including project plans, identifying resources, managing project schedules, and communicating to client group *Develop and maintain an exit interview process to include survey development and updates, process oversight, and interpreting results to make recommendation on any changes necessary to field policy or procedures *Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance - ERISA, ADA, and laws regulating discrimination and equal employment opportunity *Interpret personnel policies for field team members and managers *Manage unemployment process for assigned districts or divisions *Gather and analyze data related to employee engagement. *Use data to recognize trends and offer recommendations such as additional training on specific topics the trends *Develop training sessions for field employees and or field management, which include subject matter relevant to Employee Relation topics and current issues.
*Assist field management with curriculum for HR Training Sessions in field; which may include but not limited to research and development of subject matter relevant to Employee Relations.
*Aid risk/legal departments upon request for personnel files *Other duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
*Education:
*HS Diploma or equivalent required *Bachelor's Degree in human resources, Business or similar field of study preferred
*Experience:
*Knowledge of applicable laws, rules/regulations, procedures, and administration is required *3+ years of professional experience in Employee Relations required. *HR experience supporting hourly client group required *HR experience working retail, call center, operations or manufacturing environment preferred *Demonstrated experience in managing complex employee relations matters and investigations

*Typical Physical Demands:
*Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. *Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. *Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
