POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating policies and programs covering the following: employment, labor relations, wage and salary administration, fringe benefit administration, orientation and training, safety, insurance and health benefits and associate services.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities of the Job:
Internal & External Contacts:
Internal: All Palmetto Associates
External: Corporate benefits, Corporate payroll, Corporate Human Resources, other PVH locations, safety vendors, temporary agencies, local government officials, community college representatives, security system representatives, equipment representatives, recruiters, Insurance vendors
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct: 2 Clerical
Indirect: 100 plus
Budgetary Responsibilities:
1. $2.3 - 2.4 million annual payroll
2. Approximately $875 thousand benefit program
Decision Making:
Terminations, selection of vendors, methods of associate recruitment, safety practices and procedures, disciplinary actions
Resourcefulness/Creativity:
1. Recruitment of new associates
2. Negotiating best wage rates for temporary agency personnel
3. Negotiating new benefits / updates appropriate for location
Environment: Fast paced, constant change, multiple demands
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Minimum of 5 - 7 years HR direct or related experience
Education: Four year bachelor’s degree, business or related field
Skills: Excellent people skills, excellent communication skills, wage and hour, law knowledge, OSHA knowledge, good presentation skills, good math skills, people oriented.
