We are seeking a Sr Engineering Technician, Drafter for a very important client.
Job Description:
Under the direction of the Manager, the position will create and revise 3D CAD models, prints, and assembly drawings for new/existing fixtures, jigs, special tools, tooling and limited parts using Solidworks and on occasion AutoCAD. There is potential to also support electrical schematics using AutoCAD. Drafter will also be required to run costing for updated/created designs. This position will also work on other projects as assigned by manager.
Job Responsibilities:
Create and modify new/existing fixtures, jigs, special tools, tooling and limited parts according to inspections, marked up drawings and/or simple instructions
Utilize Solidworks in creating CAD models and drawings and apply GD&T appropriately
Use available inspection tools to document existing fixtures, jigs, special tools, tooling dimensions and designs to support the reverse engineering activities when required
Follow existing part numbering standards and support creation of improved standards as requested
Operate within PDM Enterprise (electronic file management system) to check CAD models, prints, and assemblies in and out maintaining accurate drawing versions and histories
Utilize Master Control (document management system) to pull specification numbers and complete training signoffs
Effectively communicate with team members
Proactively participate in the company?s continuous improvement programs

Requirement:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Associate degree, Technical Drafting degree, or two years Solidworks CAD modeling experience
Solidworks 3D CAD modeling, prints and application of basic GD&T
Minimum two years of experience in using basic measurement and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, gages, etc.)
Competence in Microsoft and other office application software
Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
Ability to create/modify models and drawings based on daily expectations while maintaining quality of work.
Strong ability to work in a team environment, collaborate with colleagues and share workload as needed to provide quality customer support
Attention to detail
Organize priorities to meet customer deadlines
Support 24hr/7day a week global operation
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
Competence with SolidWorks applications
High school diploma required
Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:
Associate degree in a technical field
AutoCAD experience
AutoCAD Electrical experience
CMM programming and inspection experience
Tool and die experience for plastic injection molding
