 This is also an opportunity to join a passionate and motivated team that is in the process of becoming a standalone public company.  In February 2013, Demand Media announced that that it was exploring the separation of its existing business into two independent, publicly-traded companies:  a pure play media company and a pure play domain services company.
Responsibilities: 

Manage payroll for approximately 250 employees including Canadian payroll
Supervise data entered into payroll system for accuracy
Calculate retroactive pay and premiums when necessary
Run audit reports and post payroll related reports including general related integration files.
Provide necessary information for compliance with SOX, external audit requests and corporate financial information
Ensures accurate and timely accounting, recordkeeping and management of payroll related data; performs audits and reconciliations of payroll information
Process  401K contributions and run reports for 401K and flex spending, payroll allocation, L&I, PTO 
Communicate effectively with employees regarding requests for information and various inquires 
Respond to questions regarding State and Federal agency requests for miscellaneous information relating to payroll
Support the implementation of payroll related initiatives and projects
Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency

Requirements:

Proficiency with Miscosoft Office
Experience with ADP Workforce Now.
Experience with Oracle accounting system.
Minimum for 5 years payroll experience with HR/payroll information systems.
Experience with multi state, multi division payroll environment
