The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for onboarding and offboarding employees, as well as assisting with developing, coordinating, and implementing services, policies, and programs; assists and advises hiring managers and other stakeholders about HR issues; reports to the HR Director of an IT government contracting firm that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, and high performance. Self-starter, extremely organized and experienced individual is required. Works closely with other HR team members.
What You Will Do:
Conducts new employee orientations and performs various aspects of onboarding and offboarding (exit interviews).
Implements human resources programs by providing human resources services, including employment processing, health benefits (open enrollment), records management, training and development, employee surveys, retention initiatives, providing verifications of employment, and other administrative issues.
Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all of the organization; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures.
Assists with the development and administration of programs and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
What You Bring to Karsun:
A bachelor's degree and two to five years of HR experience in a corporate setting; PHR or SPHR Certification highly desirable
Proficiency with Google Applications and Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently, self-starter, attention to detail
Previous work experience in a government contracting firm as it relates to HR preferred, along with direct experience with ADP Workforce Now Platform, iCIMS Hiring Platform/ATS, and Affirmative Action Program regs
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time salaried position. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. East Coast Time. Herndon, Virginia Headquarters location. Telework/hybrid model available.
