WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role assists with and performs the more routine Human Resources (HR) duties in the areas of policy interpretation, training, on-boarding and off-boarding, data management, employment law compliance, and benefits and leave administration. Some of the day-to-day work includes:
Acting as point of contact for incoming inquiries, issues, and requests from employees and managers and escalating to higher level HR staff as needed
Acting as a resource and maintaining accurate and up to date knowledge on applicable state and federal and local employment laws and regulations and preparing responses to local and state employment agencies and legal inquiries for management review
Managing and performing tasks associated with the processes of the full employment lifecycle, including employee on-boarding and off-boarding activities, such as leading New Hire and Benefits Orientation and conducting exit interviews
Navigating and assisting in the resolution of the more routine and less complex employee relations matters from initiation to resolution and maintaining thorough documentation
Collaborating with the Benefits Coordinator to manage leaves of absence and workers’ compensation from initial intake through resolution, including accommodations, assisting with the interactive process, and collaborating with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Maintaining HR information systems and personnel and benefits records

Knowledge of:
Basic HR concepts and an understanding of the effect of HR work on other functional areas
Principles and practices of customer service
HR Management Systems
Principles and practices of HR management, including HR programs, services, policies, and practices
Ability to:
Learn more complex principles, practices, techniques, and regulations related to assigned duties
Identify issues, gather and analyze information, reach logical and sound conclusions, make recommendations for action, and recognize matters requiring escalation to a higher-level staff member
Produce work that demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in a timely way
Exercise judgment and discretion in sensitive and/or confidential personnel and organizational matters and escalate to HR management staff as appropriate
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field
one year of human resources experience (an Associate’s degree and two additional years of experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
OTHER DETAILS
While this position is connected to our Scotts Valley office
, we are in hybrid telecommute work environment right now and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely.
Our Alliance office locations have officially re-opened as of May 2, 2022 and while some employees may work in full-time telecommute schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
Based on the nature of work, this position may require onsite presence, which is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.
COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement:
At this time, this position requires vaccination or regular testing upon office entry. Fully vaccinated and boosted is defined as receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series (ex: Pfizer & Moderna vaccines) OR receipt of a single-dose vaccine (ex: Johnson & Johnson); AND receipt of the booster (if eligible); AND a 2-week period having passed since the administration of the last vaccine dose. If you state that you are vaccinated, proof of vaccination must be submitted at time of hire.
