Critical Mass is hiring a Human Resources Director to join our Talent team.
This person will be responsible for the leading the development and support of all employees across the US for Critical Mass. The Human Resources Director works closely with the global Human Resources team, the global Talent Acquisition team and the Leadership team in each office in the US to ensure that the needs of all employees of Critical Mass are being represented. The Human Resources Director will champion various HR initiatives including recognition, retention, career development, leadership development, onboarding and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will not only have experience in dealing with Human Resources issues and concerns but will also have experience leading and supporting cross-functional teams and dealing with internal stakeholders in remote locations.
You Will:
Career Development Support
Work with VP, Global Human Resources, Talent Acquisition Team, Global HR team and the Leadership teams across the US to identify opportunities to enhance employee development strategies
Together with the Global Human Resources team, support the timeliness of performance reviews for new hires and existing employees
Serve as a strategic partner to employees and leaders with respect to managing internal conflicts, advising on development opportunities and resolving complex employee relations issues
Provide on-going support and coaching to career developers while looking for opportunities to enhance current Critical Mass’ programs and policies
Be the spokesperson for the US team of Human Resources, support their development, growth and successful delivery of Human Resources programs
Compensation and Talent Strategies
Work with the US leads team, Human Resources Managers and the Vice President, Global Human Resources to identify top tier talent and devise development, retention and engagement strategies
Lead and coordinate efforts with the HR team to ensure appropriate new-hire information is obtained and employee changes, promotions and increases are executed and communicated
Investigate and resolve complex employee relations issues and partner with the Vice President, Global Human Resources and office leadership where appropriate
Support overall organizational staff planning and strategy, working closely with the Vice President, Global Human Resources and discipline leads
Rewards and Recognition
Encourage employee celebrations and assist with special events when required
Policies
Lead the regular review of Critical Mass’ policies and procedures on a regular basis to identify opportunities for enhancing the policies to ensure we are meeting the needs of our employees
Educate employees on appropriate interpretation of policies and procedures as well as communicate any updates or changes
Continue to be well read and informed of industry events, networking opportunities, Human Resources regulations/laws and industry challenges
Training and Orientation
Identify opportunities and arrange in-house training as needed
Support Human Resources Manager to work with remote teams to disseminate appropriate learning/training and conference opportunities to other Critical Mass employees
Lead management training and office related training across the US
Together with the Vice President, Global Human Resources, establish a communication schedule for employees to handle weekly and monthly meetings, distribute information from the Leadership Team and address ongoing individual, group, department and office issues using internal messaging channels (e.g. such as Slack)
Human Resources Projects
Lead and support the US internship program including; recruitment, onboarding and ongoing support throughout the internship experience
Oversight of Global HR processes including; Quarterly Portfolio Audits and background check oversight
Identify, brainstorm and lead global projects and process enhancements across the organization
Other duties as required
Oversee employee payroll and benefit programs, and proactive resolution of any issues related to these programs
You Have:
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a software, agency or interactive web development environment with at least 3 - 5 years of senior human resources leadership experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or Communications (or equivalent experience)
Professional designation in Human Resources is desired
Demonstrated ability building trust and confidence at multiple levels in an organization
Demonstrated ability driving pragmatic decision-making in a collaborative, fast-paced, team-based environment
Proven experience leading, delegating, motivating, mentoring and building teams
Proven experience dealing with conflict, difficult situations and challenging personalities
Demonstrated knowledge of project and business management principles, methods, and techniques
Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure operational activities
Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation, negotiation and presentation
