Reporting directly to the Human Resources Director, the Associate Director for Employee Relations and Organizational Development is responsible for coordinating and directing the employee relation programs and functions. The position has the primary responsibility for employee relations, labor relations, and administration of employee engagement and retention programs that are aligned with **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***.'s mission, values and goals and support a positive and engaged work environment.
Responsibilities:
Leads and facilitates employee and labor relations, including supporting and coaching employees, managers and supervisors to proactively and creatively resolve employee relations matters. Coaches and develops supervisors and managers to ensure consistent, equitable and inclusive treatment of all employees.
Provides support and counsel to managers and supervisors with respect to employee performance management and coaching. Provides guidance to managers and supervisors regarding laws, regulations, policies and procedures related to employee relations and performance management. Assists in writing, reviews and retains performance management documentation, including but not limited to performance evaluations and corrective action.
Administers and manages administration of labor contracts. Provides interpretation of labor contracts to managers, employees and HR team. Oversees processes for review and timely resolution of employee grievances.
Develops and manages the annual performance evaluation process.
Conducts investigations into and manages employee corrective action matters.
Plans, develops and manages a robust suite of training, learning and development activities for all levels of employees that is aligned with the College's mission, values and goals. Plans, develops and manages the new employee orientation program for all employees.
Serves a member of the Human Resources department management team and participates in setting the direction of human resources support activities for the College. Develops and recommends to the Director of Human Resources policies and procedures concerning employee relations and personnel practices that are compliant, effective and efficient with a focus on the overall employee experience.
Evaluates employment and talent-related metrics and data and makes data-driven decisions related to the management of the workforce and development of talent to improve retention and the overall employee experience.
Supervises the Assistant Director for Training and Organizational Development.
Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, participating in cross functional human resources projects based on annual goals or department needs.
Qualifications
Education:
Master's degree in human resources, business, organizational development or closely related field is required. SHRM Certified Professional or SHRM Senior Certified Professional credentials preferred.
Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in a human resources management role and experience in employee relations or industrial relations.
Skills:
Excellent managerial skills and ability to evaluate the work of others.

Excellent conflict management and resolution skills.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate policies, contracts, processes and data.
Thorough knowledge of employee and labor relations practices and legal requirements.
Working knowledge of HR related federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and handle multiple priorities.
Ability to utilize technology applications (word processing, HRIS systems, Zoom, presentation and other appropriate software)
