The Senior Human Resources Generalist will support the business and management with day-to-day human resource-related operations in line with company and HR policies, procedures, operational and strategy objectives, and will be responsible for: compensation, onboarding, engagement, retention, communications, maintaining employee records and HR systems, HR reporting, administration of employee leave, labor law compliance, and DOT drug and alcohol program compliance. This is a hands-on position responsible for delivering and supporting the implementation of new programs, policies, and systems. This role is available for hybrid work within a commutable distance to the Corporate Office in Springfield VA, with occasional travel to other **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. locations to support staff engagement, relationship building and collaboration with local leadership.Remote / Telecommuting is available at manager’s discretion. Must be within commuting distance (50 miles) to Springfield VA office. Bachelors degree in human resources management, business, or relevant field of study with a minimum of 5 years of experience in these areas, or equivalent experience Experience in all aspects of HR, particularly in high-volume onboarding, administration of benefits and engagement events, and other HR programs.Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including recruitment and selection (talent acquisition), training and development (talent development), compensation and benefits, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal & state employment laws.Working knowledge of EEO, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, ERISA and all other applicable federal & state laws.Prepare and maintain job descriptions for staff positions; work with managers to ensure descriptions accurately reflect job responsibilities and skills required for each job; evaluate jobs to determine appropriate FLSA classificationBenchmark jobs against market-based compensation surveys and other market intelligence to determine competitive pay ranges for each positionAdvise and recommend new hire salaries and merit-based, equity and promotional salary adjustments; Consult with managers to identify and resolve compensation issues.Good work ethic and ability to meet assigned responsibilities and deadlines.Self-starter, positive attitude, and motivated by the role.Excellent organizational and time management skills (is organized and can prioritize job demands) that enables successful performance in a hybrid / remote work environment.High level of attention to detail and accuracy required in all aspects of the job.Ability to analyze complex situations and resolve problems in a timely manner.Ability to develop and maintain organizational databases and record keeping systems.Intentional about building effective professional relationships.Collaborates effectively with colleagues’ organization wide.Effective and flexible communication skills to communicate at all levels and with a wide range of individuals.Professional approach and manner, exercising discretion and confidentiality at all times.Flexible with a willingness to adapt to changing business requirements.Drives and supports change and continuous improvement.• Experience with RedCarpet Onboarding Software• Experience with Deltek Costpoint HR Management Software• Experience with Web Benefits Design (WBD) employee benefits system • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and / or SPHR certifications • Master’s degree in human resources management, business, or related field.#LI-DM1The Human Resources Division contributes to the strategic mission of the company by providing programs and services to increase organizational competitiveness and employee effectiveness and well being.
