Night shifts at work make us panicky. We feel that our entire life is going to get topsy-turvy. But if we can easily bring the crisis under our control simply by planning in advance then managing things will be lot easier. These are some of the ways that can prepare us for a forthcoming 3rd shift.

Try to reschedule your daily activities like shopping, cooking, exercise etc. in a way so that you do not miss out on any of these activities.

Socializing is also important, and also when you can enjoy some quality time with your loved ones. This might not be possible in week days because if you have to work at night you will be sleeping or relaxing when others will be partying. Week ends therefore would be the best time for you to enjoy. You ought to intimate your friends and family members when you are available so that you all can meet up and have a great time together.



Often when you have to stay awake for work at night you tend to drink enormous amounts of caffeine and sugar in order to keep yourself focused. This is not a good practice at all. If your require stimulant just drink enough to enable you to concentrate. You must also take enough rest and sleep when you come back home after office in the morning. Do not compromise on sleep at any cost as other physical complications may happen.

On week end do not upset the sleep cycle. Try to stay awake late into the night and in this way it will be much easier for you when you rejoin office. Sit down and think of a plan of how you can balance office and home errands and prepare to face some challenging times ahead.
