The PVH HR function is responsible for creating competitive and “uniquely PVH” Pay, Benefits, Talent Management, Learning, I&D and Associate Experience programs that enable us to attract, retain and engage top talent. The primary role of the VP, People Strategy & Planning is to partner with the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) - COE and business-facing HR leaders - to translate business strategies into HR priorities that are aligned with PVH’s vision. The role will help shape the initiatives around people and processes, which will be delivered as part of a multi-year HR roadmap. As we continue to evolve HR's global operating model, including the design of our future state organization and the roadmap to get there, this role will lead this work and manage the HR portfolio of programs and their delivery.

The VP, People Strategy & Planning role will support the Chief People Officer (CPO) by managing the day-to-day deliverables of strategy, prioritization and planning, as well as functional and team communications. This role will act as a “Chief of Staff” and partner closely with the HRLT and Internal Communications teams to ensure strong program management of all core organizational and talent practices led by the HR function. This role will have at least one direct report to support the planning process for HR.

Key Responsibilities  

Strategy & Planning

The VP, People Strategy & Planning plays a unique and confidential role in supporting the CPO in the development, communication and delivery of the HR strategy and roadmap, grounded in PVH strategy. This role also supports business and strategic planning, develops insights, articulates program value, and helps drive sustained adoption of our people practices and programs, with a focus on the associate as our consumer. Specifically, this individual will:

  • Partner closely with the HRLT in synthesizing regional and COE strategies and initiatives to articulate our enterprise strategy and roadmap
  • Facilitate the execution of the HR strategy, including translating that strategy into operational goals and objectives that are integrated into daily operations
  • Drive and lead high visibility HR projects by establishing clear project deliverables, directing resources, influencing diverse stakeholders and communicating progress and roadblocks
  • Work closely with the CPO to align competing priorities and opportunities against strategic objectives and resources
  • Set enterprise project goals, collaborating with other departments to monitoring project progress and assign workstreams where appropriate
  • Develop internal processes or drive distinct projects as required to optimize the efficacy, agility and impact of the HR function
  • Partner with the HR COE, Corporate Communications and Foundation teams to support the annual processes for headcount planning, budgeting, strategy development and submission
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate across regions and create a forum for sharing and alignment with regional leadership
  • Provide research and analytical support to identify, evaluate, and implement solutions for key functional priorities
  • Benchmark external best practices, current and future trends, and innovative solutions from the marketplace

Functional & Team Communications

This role will partner closely with the Internal Communications team to articulate the CPO’s vision, mission, strategy and tactical expectations through communication channels and events reaching her leadership team, the broader HR organization and critical internal partners and stakeholders.

  • Manage the meeting cadence for the HR function, inclusive of:
    • Leadership Team: staff meetings, team development sessions and offsites
    • Extended Leadership Team: project / program meetings to track progress and escalate issues to the Leadership Team, manage meeting agendas
    • HR, Corporate Communications and Foundation associates: regular Leadership updates, All Hands meetings/town halls, and cascade meetings
    • Planning meetings with counterparts in other functions to prepare the CPO/HRLT for Power Plan and HRLT meetings and offsites

Support the development and use of the HR “leadership voice” and support external speaking and conference presentations for the CPO in partnership with Internal Communications  

Requirements

The VP, People Strategy & Planning role requires the demonstrated ability to:

  • Lead a methodical process of analyzing problems, gathering information, generating options, then proposing and initiating a course of action
  • Research innovations in HR practices across key disciplines
  • Plan at both the overarching, “big-picture” level as well as the discrete task level
  • Navigate across a highly matrixed global organization, managing relationships and organization dynamics with discretion, tact and political savvy
  • Convey leadership and executive presence with excellent interpersonal communication and relationship management skills
  • Exhibit strong leadership, consulting, and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills for composing and writing original business plans, recommendations, reports, and internal presentations to management
  • Establish credibility and influence with associates at all levels of the organization
  • Receive, evaluate and filter requests for CPO’s time, attention and / or engagement as necessary
  • Represent the CPO and function internally and externally as required

Additional requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree; MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Human Resources programs & practices, change management or HR strategy
  • Experience in leading complex strategic projects or portfolio management
