Duties
SUMMARY:
The Recruiting and Diversity
Specialist is responsible for aspects of Legal Personnel and Diversity
administration such as on-boarding of new hires and coordinating diversity
programming.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate the on-boarding process
for new hires including processing of background checks, transcripts, conflicts
checks and online searches
Oversee all aspects of the new
hire Master Extranet
Help conduct orientation for
new Associates, prepare biographies for new hires and create and maintain
class credit charts for Managing Partners
Review monthly budget reports
and prepare year-end budget analysis
Assist with various Legal Personnel
surveys, planning and management of diversity events and meetings
Assist Legal Personnel Managers
with year-end compensation process
Coordinate lawyers’ participation
in professional organizations’ diversity events
Assist the Head of Diversity
with completion of various diversity-related surveys, securing sponsorship,
preparing charitable check requests and identifying attorneys to attend
student affinity group events
Assist with filling tables for
diversity-related events
Keep abreast of developments
as they relate to diversity and inclusion efforts in the legal profession
Required
3 years of experience in Human
Resources or applicable experience in a service industry firm
Proficiency in Microsoft Word
and Excel, knowledge of Lotus Notes preferred
Strong written and verbal communication
skills
The ability to multitask, work
well under pressure, complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner
and interact with attorneys at all levels
Maintain confidentiality and
exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion
The ability to learn Legal Personnel
specific computer applications including PeopleSoft and recruiting applications
built specifically for the Firm
Excellent Typing, Spelling and
Transcription Skills; Minimum of 50 wpm
Bachelor’s degree
