Why us, why now?
The compensation manager is responsible for the administration of AAMC's Compensation Strategy. The compensation manager plans, develops, and implements compensation programs, policies, and procedures that help the AAMC attract, engage, and retain high-quality employees and in turn achieve the organization's goals. This position is responsible for ensuring that AAMC's compensation programs are consistently administered in compliance with internal policies and government regulations. Reporting to the Senior Director, Total Rewards, HR Systems and Talent Acquisition, this position will bring a fresh external perspective to AAMC. Critical to AAMC's compensation strategy, this role will lead change and influence decision-making through a balanced mix of data and talent driven metrics.
How will you make an impact?
Manages the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs.
Monitors the efficiency of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are efficient and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.
Provides advice to HRBP and AAMC leaders on pay decisions, policy interpretations, and job evaluations.
Partners with HR team members on recruitment and talent management activities
Designs creative solutions to specific compensation-related programs and incentive plans.
Develops techniques for compiling, preparing and presenting data.
Participates in salary surveys and assesses salary survey data to ensure AAMC's compensation objectives are achieved.
Maintains compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations in a hybrid work environment.
What will you bring to the role?
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, human resources or related field and 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources with a focus on employee compensation
Knowledge of laws and regulations as they apply to base compensation and incentive compensation programs, company policies, and operations.
Experience managing 3rd party vendor relationship desirable
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and certified compensation professional credentials preferred.
At least 2-3 years' experience designing and coordinating compensation programs.
Knowledge of federal, state and local regulations and compliance requirements related to employee compensation.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data.
Computer proficiency and technical competence with the ability to use Microsoft products, including Excel.
Excellent time management skills and ability to plan and set priorities.
Excellent collaboration skills
Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with senior management.

If a bachelor's degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
