Up to $65,000.00 based on experience
Under the general supervision and direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Specialist is responsible for coordinating support staff and paralegal recruiting, completing all HR data entry in the firm’s Lawson HRIS system, entering attendance details and approving leave requests for staff in the firm’s on-line time and attendance application, and conducting benefit orientations for new personnel. The Human Resources Specialist also oversees other HR-related applications and processes as they relate to office personnel.
The Human Resources Specialist is expected to serve as a positive role model and mentor for the staff and paralegals, and to perform all responsibilities with a commitment to providing superior service to the firm’s lawyers, efficient and effective departmental operations, and an atmosphere of teamwork and continuous improvement. Above all, the Human Resources Specialist must fulfill the needs of the office in a manner which is consistent with the Firm’s Core Values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Prepare all employment-related forms for staff, paralegals, attorneys and advisors for HR Manager’s signature.

Enter all new hires, changes and departures into Lawson HRIS in a timely manner.
·
Enter all new hire benefits enrollment information into Lawson HRIS and coordinate all benefit changes with the Firm HR department.
·
Conduct benefit orientations for new hires, and back-up HR Assistant as necessary for other portions of the standard new hire orientations.
·
Work within the Firm’s online on-boarding system to on-board and integrate new employees, coordinating with Firm HR personnel as necessary.
·
Serve as gatekeeper for the firm’s Contractor Database and Firm Directory, entering required information for new hires and responding to directory inquiries from personnel.

Prepare and distribute daily Arrivals/Departures/Changes as needed.
·
Responsible for administering local and firm time and attendance procedures, utilizing the firm’s electronic time keeping system to review and approve timecards and leave requests. Follow up and counsel department managers/supervisors and employees regarding missing timecards each pay period; escalate issues accordingly.

Respond to unemployment claims for respective office in consultation with HR Manager and Firm HR personnel.
·
Respond to and oversee workers’ compensation claims for the office, in consultation with HR Manager and Firm HR personnel.
REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or equivalent
·
Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience and work in HRIS/payroll/benefits systems may be considered in lieu thereof

Minimum of 2 years of related human resources experience required, preferably in a law firm or other professional services organization
